Project Description:
The Centre Hospitalier de L’Université de Montréal (CHUM) project marked a major investment for the City of Montréal and a consolidation of three existing university hospitals. Employing cutting-edge building technologies in the construction fit into the overarching project goals. SurePods prefabricated bathrooms were a key component of the advanced technologies.
Built on the confined Saint Luc Hospital’s site, it combines teaching, research, care, and culture. The development team sought an innovative and artistic strategy for this 22-story project that provided over 3,000,000 sq. ft. of floor space and 772 single bedrooms. CHUM represents one of the largest healthcare construction projects in North America, the massive update/renovation was part of an overall strategy to give rise to CHUM as a leader in the life sciences and the healthcare network.
